Thank-You for the offers of help...

Thanks so much everyone for the offers to help us sew up the cushions. We decided (with the help of Anita Ritchie) to let the children take full ownership of their cushions and machine sew them up themselves. Thank you Anita for bringing in the sewing machine and teaching the children to use it. The cushions look great! and it has been a really fun learning experience for all of us. Check out the photos and story to the right.

Please Help us!

Hi Everyone, at the moment Room 20 are making cushions for Art. We have designed and nearly finished painting our cushions. We would love some help to machine sew them up, You will need to sew three and a half sides on each one because we are going learn to hand sew the end after we have stuffed them. If you can help please let us know or leave us a comment after this post. Thank you.

Olivia's Reading-Time Video

A typical reading time movie. I decided to show you all the great learning we do at reading time. What I love about reading in Room 20 is we get to research things we don't know about and it is really cool to know new things, We get to choose the learning experiences we do, We can lead our learning by deciding what task is most important for us to complete, and lots more, check out my video hope you like it!!!!!! Dawn's PRIDE Challenge

I did two two course meals. On the first night I did a salmon and fritter sandwich with a herb dressing and for mains I did pumpkin soup. To make it first we had to peel, grate and cook the potatoes in a pan and wait until ready. Then I had too chop, pick and mix the herbs. I then added olive oil and mixed it and put it into a container. When the fritters were ready I added smoked salmon on top then put the sauce on with a little salad on the side. For the main I did pumpkin soup. I picked the pumpkins from our garden then I cut off the skin and put it in the pot to cook until it looked sweaty, then i added chilli and other spices, then I put it all into a blender and did this until it was soft and mushy. I left it to settle. I then cooked and cut chicken into thin strips, When the soup was ready I put it into bowls and placed the chicken on top with some corriander. My family really enjoyed my meal, my sister said it was better than the soup my Mum makes, and my Mum and step Dad said it was really nice. I really liked doing this because when I get older I want to be a cook, I love cooking, I think I am good at it, I'm not perfect but I am learning.
Check out my slide show of pictures just below to the right. (Oh I did another one of these too, I did a roast beef with veges and for dessert we had chocolate pudding, and Abby Rump helped me!)
