This is Constable Pip. We emailed her to ask if she could help us locate some lanyards for our library browser badges. We were so lucky that she found a place that were prepared to give us some and she delivered them to us. Unfortunately Constable Pip had a horrible accident on the netball court and damaged her shoulder, so we didn't get to see her for quite some time. Today she called in to see us and luckily we had our lanyards on and were going back and forth to the library. We gave Constable Pip a card we made and some chocolate Santa's to say thanks and she told us some cool stories about being in the Police Force. We tried to get her to put handcuffs on Mrs Atkinson but neither of them were too keen! I wonder why? Thank you so much Constable Pip for all you do for our school.

Fair Art

Many children from year 1 through to year 6 have been painting in their lunch times over the past month to sell their magnificent art at the fair. The art will all be sold for $10 each piece and the parents who are buying their child's could let their teacher know and we will put a sold ticket on it while it is on display. For those parents not going to the fair they can also order their child’s painting and we will still display it at the fair with a sold ticket on it.

I have been in to see this fabulous art in Room 12. Well done children they are all fabulous. I have my eye on a couple of pieces! If you want to buy or view your child's art it is in Room 12 and Mrs Houghton has been the teacher in charge.

Freaky Friday!!!!!!

We had a "Freaky Friday" and ended up with some new girls in our class and for some strange reason less boys! A great day was had by all, and the wigs got very sweaty and itchy by the end of the day. I think the boys preferred being boys.

Welcome back to Term 4! Our PAI learning for this term is "Scientific Investigation" We started this off with the whole senior team going out on the field and trying to blow up wind socks, Sounds easy you say? well think again, we huffed and we puffed but we still couldn't blow those jolly things up! Mr Hickford ended up showing us how it was done, he's good at things like that. We have lots of cool things planned for this term so remember to keep checking our blog and keep making those comments we love hearing from you!!

hi my name is tyler. Today I did a presentation to the class about safety in the home. My Mum works at ACC and she helped me to learn all the ways to be safe in my home. So Mum and I decided to tell all the kids in Room 20 how to do it too. I felt a bit nervous when I had to be in-front of the class, but I think I did ok and I think they really enjoyed it and I hope they learned something from my presentation. I also had prizes to give out and I read out some safety tips and then asked the kids to tell me what they were, who ever got it right won a prize. I also handed out heaps of pamphlets for people to take home and share with their Mums and Dads and so they can teach them too. I really enjoyed it and I am going to tell Mr O'Reilly and see if he will let me tell the whole school at Learning Celebration.

Icy-poles for Room 20

Hi everyone, we found a cool book in our classroom about kids cooking and on one of the pages we saw how to make icy-poles. We think these will be a very cool idea for the summer and we are asking all parents to please have a look in your cupboards and if you have any spare ice-block trays that you would be happy to donate to room 20 then we would really appreciate it. Thank you so much from, Brooke and Lilly

"Play time" in Room 20

Hi it's Olivia and Jessica, Our reading group read a book called "Hero" It was a non-fiction text and we really enjoyed the story, so we decided to turn it into a play and share it with the class. The book was about a boy called Caine who jumped into the water from a wharf to save the life of a five year old boy. First we had to summarise the book so we made sure we included all the important bits, then we got onto the computer and typed it out. Then we printed it and gave out parts, we then had to practise it for a while. Then we presented it to the class, we are really proud of what we did. We think this is a good way to share a book we really enjoyed to others and we think the class really enjoyed it too.
