hi my name is tyler. Today I did a presentation to the class about safety in the home. My Mum works at ACC and she helped me to learn all the ways to be safe in my home. So Mum and I decided to tell all the kids in Room 20 how to do it too. I felt a bit nervous when I had to be in-front of the class, but I think I did ok and I think they really enjoyed it and I hope they learned something from my presentation. I also had prizes to give out and I read out some safety tips and then asked the kids to tell me what they were, who ever got it right won a prize. I also handed out heaps of pamphlets for people to take home and share with their Mums and Dads and so they can teach them too. I really enjoyed it and I am going to tell Mr O'Reilly and see if he will let me tell the whole school at Learning Celebration.

Icy-poles for Room 20

Hi everyone, we found a cool book in our classroom about kids cooking and on one of the pages we saw how to make icy-poles. We think these will be a very cool idea for the summer and we are asking all parents to please have a look in your cupboards and if you have any spare ice-block trays that you would be happy to donate to room 20 then we would really appreciate it. Thank you so much from, Brooke and Lilly

"Play time" in Room 20

Hi it's Olivia and Jessica, Our reading group read a book called "Hero" It was a non-fiction text and we really enjoyed the story, so we decided to turn it into a play and share it with the class. The book was about a boy called Caine who jumped into the water from a wharf to save the life of a five year old boy. First we had to summarise the book so we made sure we included all the important bits, then we got onto the computer and typed it out. Then we printed it and gave out parts, we then had to practise it for a while. Then we presented it to the class, we are really proud of what we did. We think this is a good way to share a book we really enjoyed to others and we think the class really enjoyed it too.
